The best journalism about Macau will now be annually awarded a prize of 10,000 euros, under a partnership between the Portuguese Press Club and Portuguese-language newspaper Jornal Tribuna de Macau (JTM), announced on Wednesday in Macau José Rocha Dinis, the JTM manager.
The Lusophone Journalism Award for all media professionals from Portuguese-speaking countries, is aimed mainly at “encouraging the development of the Portuguese language,” said the JTM manager on the sidelines of a conference on “The role the press is losing” held at the Macau Military Club.
Diniz also said that the initiative is part of activities that will be promoted by Jornal Tribuna de Macau over 2017, which in November celebrates its 35-year anniversary.
The conference speaker was a director of Portuguese daily newspaper Diário de Notícias, Dinis de Abreu, who was also in Macau as a representative of the Portuguese Press Club. (macauhub)
