The Economic and Trade Cooperation and Human Resources Portal between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries has received over 300,000 visitors since its creation on 1 April, 2015, according to the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM).

The portal, which has information on more than 10,000 food products from Portuguese-speaking countries and almost 14,000 registered users, is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Office of the Secretary for Economy and Finance of Macau, is coordinated by IPIM and operates in cooperation with the permanent secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries as a specially invited partner.

Ministries from Portuguese-speaking countries and trade promotion institutions from China and Portuguese-speaking countries are also involved as official partners and support from business and academic institutions in Macau.

In the note, IPIM said that the portal allowed Macao companies access to information on some of the food products from Portuguese-speaking countries, to contact their respective suppliers and increase business opportunities through the contact service on the portal. (macauhub)
