Macau’s population stood at 648,300 people at the end of March, an increase of 3,400 people on a quarterly basis, according to the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC).
DSEC also reported that the female population represented 52.7% of that total or 341,600 people.
By the end of the first quarter of this year, there were 179,879 non-resident workers in Macau, or 2,241 more than at the end of the previous quarter.
Macau, with a land area of 30.4 square kilometres, has one of the highest population densities in the world, with 21,326 people per square kilometre. (macauhub)
