The number of South Korean visitors entering Macau in April increased 48.7% year-on-year to 64,900 and Hong Kong visitors increased 25.3% to 608,800, according to figures published by the Macau Statistics and Census Bureau.
In April, when the number of visitors reached 2.7 million, with a year-on-year increase of 11.0% and a monthly increase of 9.7%, the number of visitors from China increased by 18.5% year on year to 1.7 million.
There were also smaller increases in visitors from the United States (17,700), Australia (10,300), Canada (6,900) and the United Kingdom (6,700). The number of visitors from Taiwan dropped by 2.8% to 89,500.
People who visited Macau in April remained in the territory for an average of 1.2 days, an additional 0.1 days compared to April 2016.
From January to April Macau received 10.6 million visitors, an increase of 6.9% year-on-year, with China accounting for 7.0 million or 66% of the total. (macauhub)
