Formally known as the, “Meeting of Entrepreneurs for Economic and Commercial Cooperation between the People’s Republic of China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries,” the event will be attended by about 400 entrepreneurs looking for business opportunities.

With the motto “Promoting opportunities for economic cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries,” the meeting will be organised by Cabo Verde Tradelnvest (CVTI), whose president, Ana Barber, said on Monday that about 150 Chinese business people are expected to attend.

Barber added that representatives from countries such as the United States, Spain, Morocco, Senegal and Ghana will also attend, and during the three days of the meeting there will be various activities, such as seminars, business contacts, visits to other islands, a cultural programme, products fair and several thematic panels, mainly dedicated to fishing, industry and services.

The meeting is co-hosted by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Communities and Economy and Employment of Cabo Verde, the Sotavento and Barlavento Chambers of Commerce and Services, the Cabo Verde-China Friendship Association (Amicachi), the International Trade Fair of Cabo Verde (FIC) and the chambers of commerce of the Portuguese-speaking countries.
