Angola starts selling houses in state projects

The sale of houses in State projects managed by Imogestin is reserved for Angolan nationals, who are of legal age, who pay Social Security and who have never bought or rented a house from the State, according to the conditions of access announced by the real estate firm.

Empresa de Gestão Imobiliária (Imogestin) announced on Wednesday in Luanda that it has more than 26,000 houses available for sale in the various State projects and interested parties should present their applications starting in the last week of June.

Imogestin also launched the website, intended to make submitting applications to buy a house easier and make the process more transparent.

The website will only be used for the “Free Public Sale” scheme, which is for any national who is eligible according to the criteria on the website and who can apply to buy a house in housing projects managed by Imogestin.

House prices are set in kwanzas, based on their initial equivalent value in dollars, according to the exchange rate of the National Bank of Angola, ranging from US$140,000 for a 5-bedroom apartment in the province of Lunda Norte or a 4-bedroom apartment in Luanda and US$30,000 for a 3-bedroom apartment in the province of Bengo.

Imogestin promotes, mediates and manages real estate projects,and is involved in state housing projects through the Housing Development Assets Fund (FADEH). (macauhub)
