More than 150 Chinese and Macau entrepreneurs leave for Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) on Thursday to attend the “Meeting of Entrepreneurs for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries Praia 2017” to be held in the capital city from 16 to 18 June.
After the meeting in Cabo Verde, the delegation will take part in the International Business Forum between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries and Spanish-Speaking Countries (FIN2017), held in Porto in the north of Portugal.
The Praia meeting is jointly organised by the Cabo Verde Investment and Export Promotion Agency (Cabo Verde TradeInvest), the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) under the theme “Expansion of trade and services between China and Portuguese-speaking countries” and “Promotion of opportunities for economic cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.”
The delegation organised by IPIM includes 60 business people from Macau and the remainder are from the provinces of Fujian, Hunan, Shandong and Liaoning.
On the first day of the meeting, representatives of Forum Macau will give a presentation on the main lines of the concept of “Productive Capacity” whereby China intends to increase industrial and commercial cooperation with Portuguese-speaking countries.
During the meeting, Cabo Verde Tradeinvest is organising a series of panels to discuss industrialisation, the blue economy, fisheries and the role of Cabo Verde as a platform for business facilitation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
The investment and business climate of the Portuguese-speaking countries and the financing of projects will also be a topic of debate among professionals from the sector and representatives of Portuguese-speaking countries and companies. (macauhub)
