China will increase support for training Mozambican youth by awarding another 100 scholarships to pursue university studies, the Mozambican ambassador to Mozambique said on Monday in Maputo.
Currently there are about 500 Mozambicans studying in China and more than 100 returned to the African country in 2016 with bachelor’s or master’s degrees after completing their studies.
In a ceremony held at the Embassy, Su Jian awarded a US$58,000 grant to the Mozambican education sector, an initiative of the Chinese People’s Friendship with African Civil Society.
Cited by the Xinhua news agency, the ambassador added that Chinese companies operating in Mozambique have sought to integrate the workforce trained in China. (macauhub)
