Macau’s gross casino revenue rose 25.9% year-on-year in June to 19.994 billion patacas (US$2.499 billion), marking the 11th consecutive month of growth, according to the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.
Gross revenue from gaming posted a year-on-year increase in August 2016, a month in which it grew 1.1% to 18.836 billion patacas, after an uninterrupted series of 26 months of downturn that began in June 2014.
The accumulated gross revenue from January to June amounted to 126.377 billion patacas (US$15.797 billion), an increase of 17.2% over the amount recorded in the same period of 2016, with 107.787 billion patacas.
At the end of the first quarter of 2017 there were 39 casinos in Macau run by six concession holders, 21 by Sociedade Jogos de Macau, six by Galaxy Casino, five by Venetian Macau, four by Melco Crown Jogos (Macau), two by Wynn Resorts (Macau) and one by MGM Grand Paradise, which had 6,423 gaming tables and 16,018 slot machines.
