China’s ambassador to Guinea-Bissau said his country was willing to provide all necessary support to the local private sector in order to boost the Guinean economy.
Jin Hongjun was speaking after meeting with the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Services (CCIAS), Braima Camará.
Without specifying the areas he could support within the scope of a future partnership, the diplomat called for joint work between the Chinese authorities and the Guinean private sector.
The president of the CCIAS said the two officials discussed the possibility of establishing a public-private partnership between Beijing and the business people of Guinea-Bissau.
Camará said that although Guinea-Bissau has important natural resources such as wood, bauxite, phosphate, mango, cashews and others there is no processing industry to allow the country to take advantage of their full potential.
The CCIAS president said he was convinced that with the support and technology of China, Guinea-Bissau could enter a new phase of economic development. (macauhub)
