Macau received more than 15.5 million visitors in the first half of 2017, an increase of 5.4% compared to the same period of 2016, the Statistics and Census Bureau said on Monday.
The average visit lasted 1.2 days, with visitors from mainland China (10.3 million), South Korea (433,400), Hong Kong (3.1 million) and Taiwan (520,400) increasing 6.1%, 38.7%, 1.9% and 0.1%, year on year.
In June 2017, Macau was visited by 2.3 million people, with a slight increase of 0.9% in annual terms and a decrease of 7.5% in monthly terms.
Of this total, more than 1.5 million came from mainland China, a year-on-year increase of 1.8%, the majority originating in the provinces of Guangdong (625,900), Hunan (74,800) and Fujian (65,000). (macauhub)
