Macao telecommunications company CTM plans to launch a fixed tariff system for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Bay Area by the end of the year, said the vice-president of sales Ebel Cham Pou on Wednesday.
Cham, who together with the company’s chief executive, Vandy Poon Fuk Hei, took part in the inauguration of the renovated store next to Portas do Cerco, said CTM is currently negotiating with telecommunication companies in Guangdong and Hong Kong for the new tariff system to come into force.
“Telecommunications is a basic service for both business and tourism travellers, and we expect a flat rate for the entire Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macau Bay Area,” said Ebel Cham Pou.
CTM’s vice president of sales said that the ongoing negotiations involved not only the tariff issue but also technical issues related to the compatibility of the systems used by different telecommunications operators. (macauhub)
