Macau’s gross casino revenue increased 29.2% year-on-year in July, an increase of 22.964 billion patacas (US$2.870 billion), according to official from from the Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DSEC).
The July growth rate was the highest since a reversal of 26 consecutive months of declining revenues in August 2016, when it posted a slight increase of 1.1% to 18.836 billion patacas.
From January to July, gross revenue from games of chance reached 149.34 billion patacas (US$18.667 million), or an increase of 18.9% over the amount recorded in the same period of 2016.
At the end of the first half of 2016 there were 39 casinos in Macau, 21 run by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, six by Galaxy Casino, five by Venetian Macau, four by Melco Crown Gaming (Macau), two by Wynn Resorts (Macau) and one by MGM Grand Paradise, which had a total of 6,413 gambling tables and 16,204 slot machines.
