International consortium builds beverage factory in Angola

The Grupo Sun Ocean Lda consortium plans to build a beverage factory in Angola under a deal signed on Tuesday in Luanda with the Technical Unit for Private Investment (UTIP). The project that will require an investment of more than US$50 million, the Angolan press reported.

The investment to be made by the consortium is aimed at producing and packaging juices, water and wine, initially estimated at 80 million litres per year, in a factory to be built on the outskirts of Luanda.

The consortium is made up of Angolan company Sun Ocean Holding Ltd, Equatorial Guinea company Envasadora de Bata (Embasa) and by QG African Infrastructure 1 LP, the entity that will guarantee the financing.

Sun Ocean Holding Ltd is a company with experience in the Angolan market, the Envasadora de Bata operates in the beverage sector, both in production and in the construction and management of factories, and QG African Infrastructure 1 LP is an investment company managed by Quantum Global.

The mission of the Technical Unit for Private Investment is to receive and analyse investment proposals in excess of the equivalent to US$10 million in local currency (kwanzas – AOA). (macauhub)
