A total of 18 business groups from Brazil will take part from 30 August to 1 September in the All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE) in Shanghai, one of the world’s most important leather sector fairs, indicates the Brazilian Centre for Tanning Industries (CICB).
The Brazilian groups participating in the fair are supported by Brazilian Leather, a CICB-developed project meant to boost leather exports from the country, and by the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brazil). They are expected to make deals worth US$130 million.
The Shanghai fair takes place following a first quarter in which Brazilian leather exports to the China/Hong Kong area increased by 2.6 percent compared to the same period in 2016.
“It is an important moment for the sector, which can serve to help determine companies’ strategy for the rest of the year and early 2018,” said the CICB’s executive president, José Fernando Bello.
Beside 18 business groups that will exhibit at their own stands, products will also be present in an exclusive space for the Brazilian Leather project, showcasing various summer 2019 leathers.
On the evening before ACLE opens, Brazilian Leather representatives will take part in the third World Leather Congress, also in Shanghai, where the focus will be on trends and prospects for the global sector, including topics such as e-commerce, the industry in China, promotion and raw materials.
