A hundred students from Mozambique will travel to China in the next few days on scholarships granted by various Chinese official institutions, following a formal departure ceremony held at the Chinese embassy in Maputo, reports AIM news agency.
Chinese ambassador Su Jian told the 101 Mozambican scholarship winners that studying in his country during the 2017/2018 academic year would be a good opportunity but also a challenge.
The number of scholarships that China awards to Mozambique has been increasing in recent years, rising from 23 students in the 2015/2016 academic year to 60 the following year and 101 this year.

Besides scholarships provided under the agreement signed by the two governments, China also offers grants for master’s and doctoral degrees at Chinese universities.
The courses chosen by the current group of scholarship students include petroleum engineering, mining and hydraulics, tourism management, construction, economics and finance, business management and administration, treasury, international trade, medicine and Chinese language. (Macauhub)
