29 September 2017

InterWine China 2017, one of the world’s largest beverage sector fairs, this year, and for the first time, will be attended by companies from Brazil exhibiting wines, spirits and artisanal beers, according to the Brazilian press.

The 19th edition of InterWine China will take place from 12 to 14 November in Guanzhou, capital of Guangdong province. Previous editions have been attended by exhibitors from France, Spain, Italy, Chile and the United States.

Claudio Melfi, a partner at Business Nesting Limited, which will bring together Brazilian brands and manufacturers that are present at InterWine 2017 in a single stand, said that “entering the Chinese market may be the greatest opportunity at the moment, not only because of the size and robustness of the economy, but mainly because of future prospects.”

Official Chinese figures show that the country imported 638 million litres of wine in 2016, a year-on-year increase of 5%, amounting to US$2.3 billion.

The beer market in China is worth over US$70 billion per year and the consumption of distilled beverages has been growing, with estimates indicating that by 2022 the country will be consuming about 6.7 billion litres.

Headquartered in Hong Kong and with an office in Brazil, Business Nesting International Limited has been active in the import, export and export consultancy business since its foundation in 2010.

Through a subsidiary in the city of Zhongshan, China, in 2018 Business Nesting plans to launch an internationalisation business platform that will enable small and medium-sized enterprises to launch their products and services in China. (macauhub)
