September 2017 was the 14th consecutive month of gross revenue growth at Macau’s casinos, with a year-on-year increase of 16.1% to 21.362 billion patacas (US$2.67 billion), according to the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.
Macau’s casinos saw 26 consecutive months of declining gross revenues beginning in June 2014, which only came to an end in August 2016, a month of modest year-on-year growth of 1.1% to 18.836 billion patacas (US$2.354 billion).
Accumulated gross revenues from January to September totalled 193.378 billion patacas (US$24.172 billion), with annual growth of 18.8%, according to the figures released.
At the end of the first half of 2016 there were 39 casinos in Macau, 21 run by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, six by Galaxy Casino, five by Venetian Macau, four by Melco Crown Gaming (Macau), two by Wynn Resorts (Macau) and one by MGM Grand Paradise, which had a total of 6,413 gambling tables and 16,204 slot machines.
