Macau promotes products from Portuguese-speaking countries in Hangzhou

The Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) plans to promote products from Portuguese-speaking countries and contact exchanges in Fuzhou (Fujian), Shenyang (Liaoning) and Wuhan (Hubei) in 2018, according to a statement from the institution.

The announcement was made at the end of promotion events held between 28 September and 1 October in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang Province, attended by 20 companies from Macau and Portuguese-speaking countries.

During the opening ceremony for the promotion of the products of the Portuguese-speaking countries in Hangzhou, IPIM executive director Gloria Ung said that Macau would continue to promote products in the interior of China.

Ung justified the promotion in Zhejiang for being “one of the Chinese provinces where the economy of private initiative is most active,” and recalled that for that reason IPIM has been committed to maintaining communication and economic and commercial cooperation between that province and Macau.”

The statement from IPIM said that a questionnaire conducted during the promotion found pasteis de nata (Portuguese custard tarts), alcoholic beverages and soft drinks were the products from Portuguese-speaking countries most sought after by buyers and visitors. (macauhub)
