Jiangsu companies sign contracts for interventions in Angola and Timor-Leste

Three companies from the Chinese province of Jiangsu, north of Shanghai, during the Macau International Fair (MIF) signed contracts with Angolan and Macau companies for civil construction in Angola and Timor-Leste (East Timor), Forum Macau said in a statement.

Angolan company OPAIA and China Jiangsu International Economic-Technical Cooperation Group Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement worth US$360 million and the TAMAR Limited Company has signed with Jiangsu Provincial Construction Group Co., Ltd an estimated US$50 million contract to build housing projects in Angola’s Luanda province.

The Macau Jin Shang Holding Company Limited and LongXin Construction Group Co., Ltd of Jiangsu also signed an US$80-million contract for a project in Timor-Leste.

Over the past six years, with the support of Forum Macau, summits have been held for the commercial and industrial development of Jiangsu Province, Macau and Portuguese-speaking countries.

The “Council of the Summit for Commercial and Industrial Development of Jiangsu Province, Macau and Portuguese-Speaking Countries” was established in October 2014. Working groups were set up to promote the investment, trade, education and agriculture sectors, tourism and fisheries.(macauhub)
