24 October 2017

The African Development Bank (AfDB) plans to provide Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) with budget aid of 20 million euros by 2018, Finance Minister Olavo Correia said.

The minister said the support was from an institution that is an important partner in the development of the archipelago.

“These 20 million euros will be an important reinforcement to the implementation of the policies and reforms that the Government has in progress and that will be an important step to reach the level of development that we want,” Minister Correia said.

Cabo Verde’s total budget for 2018 is estimated at 61.255 billion escudos.

The minister said he believed that the budget for 2018 will allow for economic growth of between 5 and 5.5% and will ensure that Cabo Verde will soon reach growth of 7%. (macauhub)
