Macau’s gross casino revenues rise by more than 22% in October

3 November 2017

Monthly gross revenue of casinos in Macau in October posted the largest monthly value of the year with 26.633 billion patacas (US$3.329 billion), and rose by 22.1% year-on-year, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) said.

October was the 15th consecutive month of increases in gross revenue, after a series of 26 months of decreases starting in June 2014, which was only reversed in August 2016, when modest growth of 1.1% to 18.836 billion patacas (US$2.354 billion) was recorded.

Accumulated gross revenues between January and October amounted to 220.010 billion patacas (US$27.501 billion), and the percentage variation – of 19.2% – was the highest since the beginning of the year.

At the end of the third quarter of 2017 there were 40 casinos in Macau, 22 of which were owned by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, six by Galaxy Casino, five by Venetian Macau, four by Melco/PBL Jogos (Macau), two by Wynn Resorts and one by MGM Grand Paradise, with a total of 6,449 tables and 16,310 slot machines.
