Officials from the China Communication Construction Company (CCCC), the largest construction company in Asia, will visit Brazil later this year to analyse infrastructure construction projects, the state company’s vice president said on Monday in Beijing.
Sun Ziyu, who was receiving the governor of the state of Mato Grosso, Pedro Taques, said the company’s priority is to expand investments in Brazil.
The CCCC is interested in the East West Integration Railway (Ferrovia de Integração Oeste Leste – FIOL), the North-South and Ferrogrão Railway (Ferrovia Norte Sul e Ferrogrão), and is investing in the construction of the Babitonga Bulk Terminal in the port of São Luís, capital of the state of Maranhão, a project that is already under way .
Governor Pedro Taques presented the potential of the state, noting that Mato Grosso may increase production, namely of soybeans, and the lack of infrastructure is holding back economic development.
The World Vice-President of the CCCC has announced that a working group will be sent to Cuiabá, the capital city of the State of Mato Grosso, to analyse the feasibility of investments, especially those that are considered a priority by the state government. (macauhub)
