Angola conducts survey on expenditure, revenue and employment

The Angolan National Statistics Institute (INE) in February 2018 is due to conduct a Survey of Expenditure, Income and Employment in Angola, to find out more about the living conditions of the population, the socio-demographic characteristics of households, as well as household income, said the president of the institution.

Camilo Ceita, who spoke at the opening session of a seminar on African Statistics Day, said the survey, which will take 12 months, will also make it possible to adjust and calculate the Consumer Price Index (CPI), as well as calculate the rate of poverty in the country, which has not been updated since 2008.

The survey will focus on 12,000 households across the country, by sampling, and in February will be extended to of the experimental phase.

The President of INE also said the completion of the first census agri-livestock census was scheduled fpr 2018, in order to collect updated and real information on the state of the sector in Angola. (macauhub)
