More than 2/3 of Angolan companies at a standstill at the end of 2016

More than two-thirds or 69.7% of the 152,359 companies registered in Angola at the end of 2016 are waiting to start their activity, according to the Company Statistics Yearbook 2013/2016 published recently in Luanda by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

INE added that the total number of companies registered with the Single Business Window, 106,263 were not in business compared to 46,096 that are in business.

At the end of 2015 Angola had 41,507 companies that were actively in business, of a total of 139,980 registered companies, with companies that were not in operation accounting for 70.3% of the total.

The INE yearbook showed that Benguela province remained the second biggest province for business in the country, with a total of 3,657 active companies, while Kwanza Norte, with just 416 companies, is in last place on the table. (macauhub)
