Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau set up Great Bay Tourism Federation

Leaders of the tourism sector on Tuesday set up the Tourism Federation of Cities in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay Area which, among other objectives, is intended for the joint promotion of image and marketing.

The federation, which is an initiative of senior tourism officials from Mainland China, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau, also includes tourism officials from the nine cities of Guangdong Great Bay – Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing- along with Hong Kong and Macau.

The creation of the Federation will further consolidate tourism contacts and exchanges in the three regions and help to establish a common image of international tourism and to create a new global benchmark of regional tourism for the region.

The Tourism Administration of Guangzhou is the first entity to take on the presidency of the federation.

The Federation was officially created on Tuesday, 12 December, during the opening ceremony of the Festival of Tourism and Culture of Guangdong 2017, which will be held in Guangzhou. (macauhub)
