Two consortia compete for oil prospecting in São Tomé and Príncipe

15 December 2017

São Tomé and Príncipe’s National Petroleum Agency (ANP) is expected to announce the results of the public tender for exploration of blocks 10 and 13 in the country’s exclusive economic zone in 30 to 45 days, the ANP’s director general announced on Wednesday in São Tomé.

Orlando Pontes said that out of the consortia that submitted proposals only two were considered eligible, one consisting of Portuguese groups Galp Energia and France’s Total and the other by the BP group and the US company Cosmos Energy.

The director general of the ANP said that the institution will now wait for the submission of technical and financial proposals, which should be presented in the coming weeks, after which the assessment process will begin. (macauhub)
