The procedures and specifications for the international public tender for a new telecoms operator in Angola are now available, the Angolan Institute of Communications (INACOM) said in a statement.
Inacom said that this procedure follows the announcement of the launch of an international public tender for an electronic telecommunications concession Angola, which was published in the country’s Official Bulletin (Diário da Republica) on 28 November.
Angola has three companies licensed to provide voice, data and Internet services: Angola Telecom, Unitel and Movicel.
In addition to a new operator in Angola, in November the Angolan government announced the sale of 45% of Angola Telecom, a state-owned company that has already been authorised to operate as the country’s third mobile carrier. (macauhub)
