Chinese company Astroenergy has been hired by Atlas Renewable Energy, based in Chile, to provide an 80 megawatt photovoltaic module for the solar energy project the company is developing in Aquiraz, the thirteenth largest city in the state of Ceará, Brazil, the Brazilian press reported.
The project, called Sol do Futuro, is scheduled to be delivered in the second quarter of 2018.
Astroenergy’s chief executive Lu Chuan said the potential market for solar modules in Brazil creates many opportunities for Chinese companies to increase business both in the country and in the region where it operates.
“Under the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative and taking into account the promising global solar market, we are paying much more attention to the emerging markets of South America, especially Brazil,” said Lu. (macauhub)
