4 January 2018

The management of the Angola Sovereign Fund is being analysed for approval in the first half of 2018 of a new strategy for action, Finance Minister Archer Mangueira said on Wednesday in Luanda.

The minister, who was speaking at a press conference held by the government’s economic team to present the Macroeconomic Stabilisation Programme for 2017-2018, said that the strategy of the Angola Sovereign Fund, like other institutions that were created to safeguard the investments of the State, is subject to review on certain occasions.

“Angola is experiencing a different reality fin terms of its economic and financial life it experienced in the recent past, so these institutions will necessarily have to review their strategies in order to adapt their actions to the present moment,” he said.

The Board of Directors of the fund is chaired by José Filomeno dos Santos, son of former Angolan President José Eduardo dos Santos. (macauhub)
