A Cabo Verde-China business forum is schedule to be held on 23 February in Mindelo, a port city on the Cape Verdean island of São Vicente, jointly organised by the Cape Verde-China Friendship Association (Amicachi) and the Barlavento Chamber of Commerce (CCB) the CCB said in a statement.

The CCB also said that the forum is part of Chinese cultural week, during the Lunar New Year, and is focused on entrepreneurs, representatives and technical staff of public and business entities, universities and non-governmental organisations.

The meeting will take place in the conference room of the CCB Business Centre and attended by the Chinese ambassador to Cabo Verde, Du Xiaocong.

The forum’s preliminary agenda includes a wide range of topics, including “Cabo Verde-China Economic and Trade Relations,” a presentation of the Forum of Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macau Forum) and the cooperation and development fund between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries.

There will also be a presentation of the Chinese government’s “Belt and Road” initiative, and speeches by the president of the Barlavento Chamber of Commerce and the Chinese ambassador. (macauhub)
