The Angolan government has hired Tendências – Consultoria Integrada to monitor the implementation of fiscal measures included in the Macroeconomic Stabilisation Plan (PEM), a contract that will cost the State US$890,000, according to an order signed by President João Lourenço.
The presidential order justifies the contract with the need to ensure successful implementation of the Government Interim Plan approved at the end of October and the PEM for 2018 and “to assist the Ministry of Finance in carrying out actions for fiscal consolidation and allow adequate training of technicians for proper management of such actions.”
By the end of the year, the government plans to implement 109 fiscal, exchange and monetary policy measures to be implemented in 2018, as well as to ensure a stronger financial sector, according to the PEM presented in January.
According to the summary of the document, 36 targets were set in the four areas identified as priorities, as a result of the crisis in Angola brought on by a drop in oil prices. (macauhub)
