The Angolan Ministry of Finance has set up a working group bringing together experts, business people and lawyers for advice on matters relating to taxation, tax law, and customs, according to a statement published on Wednesday in Luanda.

The ministry said in the statement that it will be up to the group to decide on the appropriateness or conformity of the various tax policy initiatives, taking into account the social, economic and political reality of the country, as well as to give opinions on legislative initiatives for the process of structural reform of the tax system.

Chaired by the Minister of Finance, the working group for tax matters is composed of the Secretary of State for Finance and Treasury, the chairman of the board of directors and directors of the General Tax Administration and the Ministry.

Associations and professional bodies will also be represented in the working group, such as the Bar Association, the Angolan Business Confederation, the Angolan Industrial Association, the Order of Accountants and Accountancy Experts of Angola, the Chamber of Official Dispatchers of Angola and the Association of Insurers.
