Mozambican state airline Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM) and low-cost carrier FastJet have entered into a partnership for code sharing, operation of routes and other commercial and maintenance activities.
The agreement, signed by António Pinto and Nico Bezuidenhout, the FastJet representative is for six years and enters into force immediately.
The agreement provides for the maintenance of the two companies’ aircraft, which will improve the services provided by the two air carriers.
According to Pinto, the agreement will help promote tourism in Mozambique.
UK-based FastJet began operating in Mozambique in November 2017 following the liberalisation of Mozambique’s airspace.
Fastjet, which operates Brazilian Embraer aircraft, currently offers flights between the Mozambican cities of Maputo, Beira, Nampula and Tete. (macauhub)
