The new Luanda International Airport (NAIL) is due to be certified to receive international flights in August and Catumbela airport will also be certified this year, the president of airport management company Enana said in Lobito recently.
Manuel Ceita, who was in Lobito to take part in the 9th Consultative Council of the Ministry of Transport, reported that in a process adopted by the Angolan aeronautical authorities and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), eight national airports will receive certification, including Cabinda, Soyo, Huambo and three more.
The president of Enana, quoted by daily newspaper Jornal de Angola, said that in 2019 the company will complete work on the Joaquim Capango Airport, in Cuito (Bié province) and the Maria Mambo Café Airport, in Cabinda, provided there are no financial obstacles to completing the work.
Enana is committed to keeping pace with the development of the ICAO global network of airports, with the introduction of regulations and standards, as well as state-of-the-art equipment, he said. (macauhub)
