6 April 2018

The government of China has provided Angola with 200 scholarships for Angolan staff, who will be able to get free training in more than 30 training areas, the Chinese embassy in Angola said in a statement issued in Luanda.

The statement said that by granting scholarships, China intends to help train Angolans in areas such as agriculture, infrastructure, finance, health, logistics, mining, communication, tourism, and trade and investment.

The training will be given in cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Changsha and Nanjing, and take between 20 and 30 days, with travel, food and accommodation costs covered by the Chinese government.

The trainees will also have the opportunity to attend various professional seminars and visit companies and other cities in China to better understand the training subjects, China’s development experiences and the country’s customs.

In the last five years, Angola has been the country with the highest number of staff attending courses promoted by the Chinese government, with more than 600 Angolan citizens benefitting from these courses. (macauhub)
