Contracts for public works, supervision and consulting from 2013 to 2017, at a standstill due to changes that are not attributable to the contractors, will be renegotiated by the Angolan government, under a presidential order published recently in official state gazette, Diário da República.
The order gives the Minister of Construction and Public Works powers to renegotiate and evaluate contracts for building works, inspection and consulting taking into account the financial resources available.
The Minister of Finance, according to the order, will, through the National Public Procurement Service, participate in the renegotiation of the contractual terms, Angolan state news agency Angop reported.
The Public Investment Programme for 2018, which includes a total of 1,893 projects nationwide, with a budgeted value of 890.12 billion kwanzas, is not guaranteed, due to the general state budget deficit for 2018. (macauhub)
