Building sustainable cities under discussion in Macau

The Macau International Environmental Cooperation Forum 2018 (MIECF), organised by the Macau Government, will take place from 12 to 14 April at the Convention and Exhibition Centre of the Venetian Macao Resort Hotel, under the theme, ” Building Sustainable Cities for an Inclusive Green Economy,” according to official information.

This year’s edition of the event aims to continue serving as an international platform for exchange and cooperation in the field of green industries, and more than 490 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions have already been confirmed for the MIECF 2018 “Green Show.”

The “Green Show” will continue to play an important role in the exchange of information and interchange in the field of environmental protection at a regional level, with a total of six sessions and a special session, involving more than 50 speakers from various countries and regions, who will discuss current issues related to environmental protection.

MIECF 2018 is organised by the Macau Government and co-organised by the provincial and regional governments of the Pan Pearl River Delta Region and is coordinated by the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and the Macau Environmental Protection Bureau .

The event will be attended by the National Commission for the Development and Reform of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China as special support organisations.

This 11th edition will continue to promote exchanges and cooperation between companies involved in the environmental protection industry, in particular the countries and regions under the “Belt and Road” initiative, as well as the Pan Pearl River Delta, the Metropolitan Region of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Great Bay, as well as Portuguese-speaking countries and European countries.

The MIECF was accredited by the UFI-Global Exhibition Industry Association in 2011 and in 2017, and given the “Conference and Exhibition Excellence Award” award by the Macau Convention and Exhibition Association. (macauhub)
