Businessmen and shopkeepers from Macau will promote food products from Portuguese-speaking countries on 26 and 27 April in Huizhou and Dongguan, and in Fuzhou in Fujian province in May, according to the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM).
The “Contact meetings for the food products of the Portuguese-speaking countries – Foshan and Zhaoqing Stations” are helping to strengthen Macau’s position as “Three Centres – One Platform” within the framework of the cooperation services platform for trade between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries, along with the process of construction of the Greater Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Metropolitan Region.
On Monday and Tuesday, the first two stations of the contact sessions took place in Foshan and Zhaoqing, thus beginning the series of contact events in 2018 related to the products of the Portuguese-speaking countries.
The event was organised by IPIM, led by the China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce and co-organised by various chambers of commerce from Macau, with the aim of promoting the entry of food products from Portuguese-speaking countries into the market of Mainland China and expand their popularity and influence in this region.
The first two sessions were attended by 22 food suppliers from the Portuguese-speaking countries who exhibited coffee, red wine, alcoholic beverages, mineral water, snacks, salt, fruit juice, soft drinks, milk, speciality vegetable oils, among other food products, and cleaning products.
The two sessions attracted more than 230 buyers from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Great Bay, who were able to experience the traditional and “new” tastes of Portuguese-speaking countries through contacts with professional opportunities and business talks with suppliers. (macauhub)
