25 April 2018

Huíla province’s agricultural and industrial sectors this year will receive investments from the People’s Republic of China, which also plans to finance the construction of vocational training schools, the Chinese ambassador to Angola said on Tuesday in Huambo.

Cui Aimin said at the end of a visit to a school in the Lossambo district, 12 kilometres from the city of Huambo, whose construction in 2016 was financed by the government of China, that the investments to be applied, mainly in the agriculture and industrial sectors are part of a protocol of cooperation between the two countries.

The ambassador said that China will finance the construction of a vocational training centre in this province to teach courses related to the agricultural sector, specifically for seed specialists, agricultural processing and social management, classes for which will be provided by Angolan and Chinese teachers.

Cui Aimim has also pledged to help the government of Huambo province to raise private investments in China for other areas considered important in the process of social and economic development, according to the Angop news agency.

In the Angola/China friendship school, attended by 780 secondary level students, the ambassador offered school and sports materials, computers, televisions and other equipment to contribute to improving the quality of teaching and learning. (macauhub)
