Food products from Portuguese-speaking countries attract 200 buyers from China

Two hundred buyers took part in two activities to promote food products from Portuguese-speaking countries in the Chinese municipalities of Huizhou and Dongguan, both in Guangdong Province, the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) reported.

The two activities, which were organised by IPIM, were coordinated by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce for the Import and Export of Foods and Native Products and the supported by the Trade Services of these two municipalities.

Twenty-one suppliers presented food products from Portuguese speaking countries, namely coffee, wine, mineral water, snacks, salt, fruit juice, beverages, milk, vegetable oil, among others, along with the promotion of the Portal for Cooperation in the Economic, Commercial and Human Resources Area between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries.

The statement from IPIM said that the two promotional activities aim to take advantage of the opportunities arising from the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Great Bay region, in order to contribute to the diversification of Macau’s economy and promote development within the region.

IPIM has been organising a series of promotional activities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau region, including Zhuhai, Foshan, Jiangmen, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Foshan, Zhaoqing, Huizhou and Dongguan. (macauhub)
