The population of Macau rose to 656,700 people at the end of March, a real increase of 3,600 people in compared to the previous quarter, with the female population accounting for 53.0% of the total, according to the Statistics and Census Bureau.
At the end of the first quarter, there were 181,345 non-resident workers in Macau, 1,889 more than at the end of the previous quarter, with 273 people authorised to live in Macau in the three-month period, 74 fewer than in the previous year.
Macau ended 2017 with a population of 65,100 people, which represents a real increase of 8,200 people compared to the number recorded at the end of 2016, with the female population accounting for 53.0% of the total.
With a land area of 30.5 square kilometres, Macau had a population density of 21,560 people per square kilometre, one of the highest in the world. (macauhub)
