The Guinea-Bissau authorities are eagerly awaiting the visit of a delegation from Forum Macau from 22 to 26 June, the head of Guinea-Bissau’s Private Investment Promotion Division, Bruno Jauad told Macauhub on Monday.
The Director-General added that the delegation will evaluate the implementation of the Economic and Trade Cooperation Action Plan (2017-2019), the Memorandum of Understanding on Productive Capacity Cooperation and the 18 measures announced in 2016 by CHina at the 5th Ministerial Conference of this platform of cooperation between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries.
During its stay, the Chinese mission will meet with Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Aristides Gomes, the Minister for Trade and Tourism, Vicente Fernandes, the Minister for Agriculture, Nicolau dos Santos, Fisheries Minister, Maria Adiato Djalo Nandigna and Public Works Minister Óscar Barbosa, with whom they will discuss, evaluate and revise, if necessary, the projects underway in the respective areas, within the scope of cooperation with China.
Jauad added that the Guinean leaders are committed to and finalising the logistics of receiving this mixed institutional/business delegation, which in addition to including members of the Permanent Secretariat of the Macau Forum also includes “entrepreneurs from one of the Chinese provinces.”
The meeting is being held as part of Forum Macau’s action plan, approved at the 13th meeting of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macau), with a view to strengthening relations and exploring ways of further disseminating the institution’s objectives.
