The government of Cabo Verde presented the website and logo of the Cabo Verde summit and presidency of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), which will take place in July on the island of Sal, in a meeting with the press on Friday in Praia.
The logo features nine lines (representing the nine CPLP countries) arranged in an open circle, in shades of blue, red and green.
The minister of Culture and Creative Industries, Abraão Vicente, who led the presentation ceremony, said the image is intended to convey an “idea of dynamism” and “reactivation” of the community with “a more effective, better known and more intense presence,” in the lives of citizens.
Cabo Verde hosts the 12th Conference of Heads of State and Government of the CPLP on 17 and 18 July, which marks the beginning of Cabo Verde’s presidency of the organisation.
The summit confirmed attendance of the heads of state of the nine member countries of the organisation: Angola, Brazil, Cabo Verde, Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Portugal, Sao Tome and Principe and Timor-Leste (East Timor).
The Cape Verdean presidency of the Portuguese-speaking community, which will last two years, will have as its motto “Culture, people and oceans.” (macauhub)
