The Macau Chief Executive is due to meet in Beijing on Wednesday with deputy prime minister, Han Zheng, to discuss the opinions and recommendations of the government of the Macau Special Administrative Region (Macau SAR) and of various segments of society about the development plans for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, said the Government spokesman’s office.
The official delegation of the MSAR includes the Chief of Staff of the Chief Executive, O Lam, among others, and its return is scheduled for Friday, 28 June.
Chui Sai On led an official delegation of the Macau SAR, which started a tour of the cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area on 21 June.
The delegation visited the cities of Zhuhai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhongshan and Jiangmen with the aim of increasing ties and cooperation between the MSAR and the sisters cities of the Greater Bay, with a view to joint preparation of the “Framework Agreement to strengthen Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau cooperation and promote the construction of the Greater Bay Area,” which is due to be launched soon.
The governments of the province of Guangdong and the Hong Kong and Macau Special Administrative Regions and the National Development and Reform Commission signed the “Framework Agreement to strengthen Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau cooperation and promote the construction of the Greater Bay Area” on 1 July, 2017.
