Cabo Verde’s (Cape Verde’s) national pharmaceutical products company, Emprofac has made its first sales abroad since it was established in 1979 with the recent shipment of goods to Sao Tome and Principe and two to Guinea-Bissau, said the president of the public company.
Gil Évora, quoted by newspaper Económico Cabo Verde, said these exports are part of the process of internationalisation of the company set out in its 2018/2020 Business Plan and are intended to conquer regional markets and increase foreign exchange in the company and in the country.
To São Tomé and Príncipe, the export was sent to the National Medicines Fund, “an emergency order that despite the lack of an air connection we managed to place on the Praia/Lisbon/STP route.”
Emprofac is a publicly-owned benchmark company in the Cabo Verde pharmaceutical sector, responsible for the import, storage, sale and distribution of medicines and pharmaceuticals to all pharmacies, hospitals and other health facilities in Cabo Verde.
Based in Praia, according to official information, Emprofac ensures that the population of Cabo Verde has access to safe, effective and certified medicines. (macauhub)
