The President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau will take part in the next China-Africa Forum, to be held next September in Beijing, the Chinese ambassador to Guinea-Bissau announced, following a meeting with President José Mário Vaz.
Ambassador Jin Hongjun formally invited the Guinean President to attend the Forum, which will bring together heads of state and governments from African countries with the Chinese authorities and in which important projects focused on China supporting Africa will be discussed.
Jin Hongjun also said that the President’s quick reply to the invitation shows how important the Guinean authorities consider this event to be, so much so that at the last edition held in Johannesburg, South Africa, the country was also represented by President José Mário Vaz.
The ambassador also said that the Johannesburg meeting generated significant support from China to Guinea-Bissau, particularly in the areas of education, health and agriculture.
“After Beijing, we hope that Guinea-Bissau will benefit from more aid and expand to other development sectors,” said Jin Hongjun, who expressed his country’s willingness to support the upcoming general elections scheduled for 18 November in Guinea-Bissau. (macauhub)
