Food products from Portuguese-speaking countries showcased in Dongguan, China

The Macau-Dongguan Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum and the Promotional Activity of Products from the Portuguese-speaking Countries – Dongguan were recently held in that city on the Pearl River Delta organised by the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Dongguan Trade Department, according to official information.

The Forum was attended by about 150 representatives from the industrial and commercial sector and academic experts from Dongguan and Macau, as well as a delegate from São Tomé and Príncipe to the Permanent Office of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries (Macau).

The participants discussed how both regions can strengthen their cooperation in order to get more opportunities and explore the international market of the Portuguese-speaking countries under joint integration of the economy of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Metropolitan Region.

As a service platform for trade cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, Macau is promoting the food products of those countries in mainland China, with IPIM already having 23 exhibition areas in mainland China, allowing more local retailers and residents to try out food products from Portuguese-speaking countries and explore business opportunities with those countries.

The promotion of products from the Portuguese-speaking countries was extended for three days from 6 to 8 July at a shopping centre in Dongguan, attracting 64,000 retailers, residents and tourists. (macauhub)
