23 July 2018

Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica (Embraer) delivered 42 jet aircraft for the commercial aviation segment and 31 for the executive aviation segment during the first half of 2018, the company reported in a statement released in São José dos Campos.

Most of the aircraft delivered for commercial aviation were the E175 model, with 31 units, while for the second segment most, 23, were what the company designates as light jet aircraft.

In the second quarter of the year Embraer delivered 28 jet aircraft for the commercial aviation segment and 20 for the executive aviation segment, indicates the statement released last Friday.

The company stated that the highlight of the quarter was delivery of the first series E190-E2 to the Norwegian company Widerøe in early April during a ceremony at Embraer’s factory in São José dos Campos in São Paulo state.

Embraer has also signed a firm order with American Airlines Inc. for 15 76-seat E175 jets, a contract worth US$705 million based on current prices. Plans call for deliveries between March and November 2019.

Embraer and Mauritania Airlines announced during the 2018 Farnborough Airshow a firm order for two 76-seat E175 jets, as well as another to deliver 25 E175 aircraft for United Airlines in the USA and 10 E195-E2 for Wataniya Airways in Kuwait. (Macauhub)
