Macau population reaches 658,900 people at the end of the 1st half of 2018

Macau ended the first half of 2018 with a population of 658,900 people, a quarterly increase of 2,200 people, with the female population accounting for 53.1% of the total or 349,600 people, according to the region’s Statistics and Census Bureau.

At the end of June, there were 181,499 non-resident workers in Macau, an increase of 154 people compared to the previous quarter, with 774 Chinese immigrants in the second quarter, down 233 compared to the previous quarter.

In the first half of the year there were 2,135 registered marriages, 108 more than in the same period of 2017, with 1,441 live births in the second quarter, 27 more in quarterly terms and 473 deaths, 49 fewer against the previous quarter. (macauhub)
